Client Spotlight
Sydney Lowe
is a creative producer and creative executive working in film, TV and artist programming
Interview Date: August 18, 2023
What are the mediums you create in?
I create in visual mediums and also within communal ones. I work across film, television and also artist programming. I’m inspired by the transformative powers of the arts, inclusive communities, collaborative teamwork, dynamic support and accessible resources to create change in society.
What do you say when people ask you what you do?
I’m a creative producer and creative executive working in film, TV and artist programming.
What are some words that come to mind when you think about your creative style?
Thoughtful, interdisciplinary, empathetic, intersectional, curious and community-oriented!
What is a piece of advice around creative work (or work in general) that you call to mind often? (Or what advice would you share with others?)
Perfectionism (and imposter syndrome!) are the enemies of the good. What does it look like to try to approach your ideas with curiosity and playful practice? This is a lesson I tell myself often!
The grass isn’t greener on the other side. It’s greener where you water it. Everyone’s journey is their own. Try as best as you can to leave comparison behind, and reach towards gratitude and self-compassion with both hands.
“Write the truest sentence you know.” If I’m feeling lost, this is one of the questions I often use to check my own internal compass. What’s at the vulnerable center? What’s the thing I know to be the most true? That’s your north star. Follow it.
You are not alone! Get out there and find your people! There is belonging, meaning and limitlessness to be found in safe and supportive community with others.

How long have you been working with Melissa?
3 months
What did you come to coaching for?
I’d been experiencing a lot of burnout, stress and anxiety the past few pandemic years. I was feeling very lost about what I wanted to do next and searching for a way forward. I was looking for direction and didn’t know where to start – until, Melissa!
What are some ways that coaching has impacted you?
Working with Melissa has been nothing short of incredible. She did an amazing job of helping me reconnect with myself and my values. She not only helped me figure out a direction, but gave me concrete tools and strategies that I’ll be able to utilize for the rest of my life – especially around short-term and long-term goals. She is a culturally-sensitive, dynamic and thoughtful accountability-buddy—as well as a deeply supportive, collaborative sounding board who truly helped respark confidence in myself. She helped me start to let go of a tight grip on perfectionism / imposter syndrome / self-judgment / shame, and begin to replace it with a practice of deeper self-awareness, self-integrity, pride, hope and a sense of play. She opened a door in my heart and a window into my brain, and I’m so very grateful. Melissa is the real deal, and I shout the Coherence Studio name from every rooftop!
What are you currently learning about yourself?
How to keep the faith, how to play and how to practice, when tapping into my compass again. Leaning into confidence, gratitude and learning to love myself just a little bit more.
